This 12’ Prototype Power Catamaran was envisioned and constructed over two summers.  The boat was designed to be small, fast, and enjoyable (thrilling, a boater of my spirit might interject) to drive.  The 12’ prototype version was powered with an outboard, but the project might also later consider twin jets (such as SeaDoo’s twin jet motors; they came out with a twin jet v-hull after this began. Lightweight SeaDoo and Yamaha power plants would be considered)  As tested, the first hull delivered 37.5 mph, with a 35 hp. outboard.  The hull could handle more power, and it is estimated that 50 mph in the straight away would not be unreasonable.
